Diaper Definitions Dictionary

Pocket Diapers: Pocket diapers are made with an outer layer of PUL or Polyurethane Laminate, that comes in a wide range of colors depending on the manufacturer. The inner material can be made of a custom fleece or micro suede, or any material that the manufacturer chooses. The opening of the pocket could be on the back edge of the diaper, or inside at the back of the diaper, or now there is a style of diaper called easy cleans that have an opening at the back and front top of the diaper.

Fitted Diapers: Fitted diapers are more form fitting. They can be made from Organic Cotton Velour to Hemp and anything inbetween. Some manufacturers make their fitted diapers pocket diapers.

Diaper Liners: Diaper liners are just what they are named. Diaper liners can be made from many different materials.

Diaper Doublers: Diaper doublers are a doubler that you lay inside the diaper to boost your current absorbent layer.

ALL IN ONES: Also known as AIO’s. All in ones are made with an outer layer that is usually waterproof with absorbent layer sewn in and then a top layer sewn all together or All In One. The all in one is also made with many different materials on the inside layer.

Pre folds: There are many types of pre folds, Chinese Prefolds, Indian Prefolds, and Birds eye flats. Cloth Diaper Central only carries the Chinese Prefolds. These are diapers that can be folded in 3rds and laid inside a cloth diaper cover.

Snappi: Snappi’s are a “Y” shaped item that can be attached to your pre folds to keep them in place.

Diaper Inserts: Are the absorbent layer that is “stuffed” into a pocket diaper. Diaper Inserts can be made of micro fiber, hemp. There are even fleeced lined inserts as well. It will depend on the manufacturer as to how they are made.

Diaper Pail Liners: Diaper pail liners are usually made with a layer of waterproof protection. They come in a wide range of colors and different sizes depending on the manufacturer.

Wet Bags: Are bags made from a waterproof layer. Depending on the manufacturer they can close with a zipper, draw strings, or a draw string. These also come in just about any color your diapers come in.

Deo Disks: Are small disks that can purchased to help control the odors inside of your diaper pail.

Disposable Liners: Are a thin liner that goes inside the diaper between your child and the diaper to catch the “ugly” messes. Some liners are biodegradable and can be flushed.

Cloth Diaper Wipes: Cloth wipes can be made of any material. Cloth wipes can be used to clean that new little bottom, or as your child grown to wipe those dirty little faces.
